Membership/Dues

A quorum of the voting members at the North Carolina Tax Collectors’ Association (NCTCA) annual business meeting held in Greensboro on May 2, 2018 unanimously approved a motion to change the NCTCA dues structure from individual dues to jurisdictional dues. Jurisdictional dues will allow all staff members of the tax collection and tax assessment operations of county and municipal jurisdictions to enjoy membership in and the benefits of NCTCA.
NCTCA was formed with the sole purpose of providing education and training opportunities for the municipal and county tax collectors across the State of North Carolina and traces its humble beginnings back to a small meeting held on December 5th and 6th, 1944, at what was then the equivalent of the current annual conference. At the conclusion this two-day meeting, the 27 people in attendance voted to form an association to be known as the North Carolina Association of City and County Tax Collectors. Since that time the association has evolved into the NCTCA with membership open to all collectors and their eligible staff members. The association has grown in both scope and size over the years and has come to be known as one of the more respected collectors’ associations across the United States.
The structure of the jurisdictional dues is tiered by population range for county jurisdictions, while dues for all municipal jurisdictions is $50. Payment of the annual jurisdictional dues entitles all staff members of the tax collection and tax assessment operations of the county or municipal jurisdictions to enjoy membership in and the benefits of NCTCA.
